While
committing to classical lines we consider following
modernisations essential for a "low maintenance",
monocoque hull: Strip planked with pine, edge nailed
in copper, glued with epoxy. Frames and floors in oak
or chestnut, steam bent, fastened with copper rivets.
Keel, keelson, stem, engine bearers in oak or chestnut.
The varnished upper planks in sapelli mahogany. Decks
and rudder blade in certified marine ply. All wood to
the finest quality. All epoxy glue Lloyd-approved.
As
a protection against point loads (impacts) one layer
of glass fibre cloth, laminated with epoxy resin has
been foreseen for the outer skin.
Frames
will be steam bent. Knees, stem and some further members
will be laminated with epoxy.
All
fastenings and hardware in copper, bronze or AISI 316
stainless steel. Rudder pintles with Delrin bushing.
No aluminium, brass or iron will be utilized.
The
hull will be painted with a good two part polyurethane
paint system. The quotation is based on the Jotun system.
The varnished parts will be in TriMetal varnish, six
coats minimum.
Carvings
in the traditional style are part of the quotation and
can be carried out to clients requests.
No
engine and propulsion parts are included in the price,
however, all required members will be preshaped so that
a suitable engine can be installed in with ease.
Two
sets of oars, bearers to meet specs for any suitable
engine with 10HP plus power output.
6-7
crew/ passengers possible to accomodate.
